OSAP Overpayment/Repayment: What happens with OSAP money that I received if I withdraw?
Last Updated: Feb 02, 2024 Views: 4726

As a result of withdrawing from your program after the release of your OSAP funding, you may be in an overpayment situation. You will be required to repay the overpayment amount to OSAP. OSAP will assess your overpayment amount and contact you directly within 6-8 weeks. Be sure to keep checking your message center.

You should be aware of the following:

  • If you do not return your funding amount to the National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC), this will impact the amount of funding you receive if you re-apply for OSAP within the same academic year.
  • If you return to school and do not apply for OSAP you will need to apply for Continuation of Interest Free Status via your OSAP portal.
  • After the release of your OSAP funding, Algonquin College is obligated to issue any credit on your student account to the NSLSC.
