Academic expectations: Is there special consideration for students with disabilities?
Last Updated: Mar 06, 2024 Views: 208

All students must meet the entrance and academic progress requirements, and there is no special consideration to change these requirements.

Students who are registered with the Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL) may access reasonable accommodation in order to meet these expectations.

Algonquin College is fully committed to supporting students who are accepted into its college programs; however, programs are not modified to meet the needs of students who are not academically ready for college.

When a student makes the decision to enroll at Algonquin College, it is important that they are college-ready. This means that students must be:

  • independent learners
  • aware of their strengths and challenges
  • able to articulate their needs
  • able to access services

Students are expected to take responsibility for their education.
