Whether you are concerned about your use of substances or you want to reduce the negative consequences when you use, there are resources available. In partnership with the AC Umbrella Project, counsellors at Algonquin College work with students to reduce the negative health and social consequences related to substance use.

Here are a few resources that can help you:

  • Lowering Your Risks - Harm Reduction Strategies: If you are planning to use, this page has information to help you do so as safely as possible. It includes information about cannabis, alcohol, hallucinogens, cocaine, and MDMA/Molly, as well as information about overdose prevention.
  • Need Help?: If you are concerned about your substance use, this page is a good place to start. It includes information about how to access support from counsellors. It also links to online self-assessments for alcohol and marijuana, as well as on-campus, off-campus, and online support.
