Learning strategies are useful tools that can help you succeed in your studies. Learning strategies include skills such as time management, taking useful class notes, studying effectively, and preparing for a test or exam. These services can help you with learning strategies:

  • Study Skills Workshops (Ottawa campus): Learning Strategists and Counsellors run these group workshops throughout the semester in the Library Learning Lab (C263). Sign up for a workshop and find out how to create a schedule for your week, improve your study strategies, prepare for exams, and more.
  • Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL) - Learning Strategists: If you are registered with CAL, Learning Strategists can work with you and help you develop skills to improve your academic performance. They can help you with any academic issue. Pembroke students can see the Pembroke Campus Learning Strategist.  
  • Counselling Services: Counsellors offer support sessions to help with learning strategies. Visit their website for information. Perth and Pembroke students can find campus-specific information under the Campuses tab. 
  • Student Success Specialist: They provide resources to help you with learning strategies such as time-management, organization, note-taking, studying, etc.
  • Student Support Lab (Pembroke campus): Coaches can help you with study skills and success strategies. Coaches are available by appointment. 
  • Essential Study Skills guide: This online resource has tips, video demonstrations, activities, tip sheets, and downloadable templates to help you plan your time, take effective notes, study effectively, and more.
